How to fix Huawei P30 slow performance

Each time you go for a new phone you always ensure that you pick the one that has the best features. The whole idea of doing this is so that you get the best experience while using your phone. This can be in terms of excellent performance and absence of lags but this is never the case after using the phone a couple of times. After a few weeks or so your phone may start having issues, this has been the case with the new Huawei P30. Customers have reported having some performance issues with their P30s. Let’s see some of the things you can do to put things in motion again.

Reboot your phone

The new Huawei P30 runs on Android 9 (Pie) and has a 6 GB to 8 GB RAM so if anything this phone should be flawless when it comes to performance.

If your P30 has failed to deliver as you expected and suddenly starts getting annoyingly slow try a simple reboot.  Rebooting your phone should be on top of the list each time you have an issue with your phone. It can help solve some of the simple system malfunctions that may be causing your phone to lag. Rebooting a P30 is very easy, just long press on the Power button until your phone vibrates. You should be able to see the Huawei logo seconds before the reboot starts.

Uninstall Recently Installed Apps

If your phone starts having performance issues after installing some new applications then it might be that the apps are the problem. Apps can at times be faulty and installing them on your phone may spread the fault to your phone.

To uninstall apps go to Settings > Apps, tap on recently installed apps, and then tap Uninstall.

Update your Apps

Aside from uninstalling apps, ensure that your P30 has the latest apps. Running outdated apps can be the cause of the problem to avoid this update your apps from time to time to avoid the hustle you can set your phone to automatically search and install updates.

To enable auto updates, visit Google Play Store, tap Menu Settings > Auto-update apps. To save on internet data choose Over Wi-Fi only.

Disable Power Saving Mode

When power saving mode is enabled the performance of your device will slow down. The Power saving mode works by disabling auto synchronization and can also limit apps from running in the background. At times, it can turn off some of the features your phone has and this might be the reason why your Huawei P30 is experiencing poor performance.

To avoid this, check your battery options to ensure that your device is not on Power Saving Mode, access Settings, select Battery, on the Optimize Battery Usage Menu, tap Power Saving Mode to slide the switch. After disabling power saving mode enable Performance Mode under the same Menu.

Check for Viruses & Malware

Your device can also have performance issues if it is infected with a virus or malware. The two can severely damage your system and can cause permanent destruction by making the entire system to collapse. Here are some apps that you can use to scan for viruses on your P30 Avast Mobile Security, Norton Mobile Security & Antivirus and AVG Antivirus.

Do a Hard Reset

This is will erase everything from your phone including the problem your phone is having. A hard reset should be done as a last resort and should be done after you have backed up your data to an external drive.

To do hard reset Power Off your phone press and hold Power + Volume Down for 10-15 seconds. On the Fastboot Menu use the volume buttons to select Recovery Mode, tap the Power button. Next, use the volume button to select Wipe data, tap the Power button again. Navigate the menu using the Volume buttons and tap OK followed by a single press of the Power button > Reboot system.
