- You will notice a search icon represented by a magnifying glass at the top of the screen.
- Click on it, so you can start writing
- Type in the name of a person whose private story you are a part of.
- Select the person's name and go to their profile.
- Once you are there, scroll down and look for the option called Group stories.
- Tap Group stories, then tap on the person's story you are in.
- Tap and hold the story until the menu with the option shows up.
- The screen will open, asking you if you would like to leave the story.
- If the answer is yes, tap on the option called Leave story.

Suppose you want to check if the previous steps were done successfully, exit Snapchat and re-open the app. As this is a private story you had permission to see, now that you have left, you are removed from the list of persons who were permitted to see it.
