iPhone SE Yellow Screen Problem

Some iPhone SE users found that their phone’s screen had a yellow tint. The yellowness was either all over the screen or just around the edges. In both cases it made the phone look dull in comparison to the brighter and whiter screens of other iPhones. For some users, the problem was similar to the yellowish tint on the iPhone 5 phones which was caused because of the adhesive used for the digitizer. Once the adhesive dried up, the phone looked normal. If you find your phone’s yellowness fading away and if it is gone within a week then the adhesive may be the reason for the issue.

Solution: Check if Night Shift is activated

If it is not the adhesive, then there is a chance that a recently added feature called Night Shift may be the source of the problem. This feature gives your screen a warmer tone after the sun goes down.

  • Launch the Settings app
  • Tap on Display and Brightness
  • Look for Night Shift and tap on it

If it is enabled, then you may want to disable it. Also, check if the slider at the bottom for color temperature has been changed. The change in color temperature may be causing the yellow hue.

If none of these solutions work then consider visiting the Apple store to identify if the problem is within the hardware of the phone.
