Microsoft Releases Loop App for Collaborative Work in Public Preview

After two years of development, Microsoft has finally released its Loop app in public preview form for the web, Android and iOS. The app enables people to work on projects with live-updating components that can be integrated with Microsoft 365 apps like Word and Outlook. For example, users can add a table in a Word document that updates in real-time as changes are made.

Loop offers several features for collaboration, such as task assignments that are synced with Planner and To Do, commenting, reaction, sharing of project pages and progress tracking. Users can even contribute photos from their phones if they are away from their computers.

To enhance the user experience, Microsoft is incorporating AI into Loop. Microsoft 365 Copilot offers AI-powered suggestions to help kickstart user efforts. Users can ask Copilot to help create a mission statement or summarize the content of a workspace document.

Currently, a work account is required to use the mobile apps, but anyone can access Loop on the web. Microsoft has also announced that personal support for mobile is "coming soon." While Copilot is currently in a private test, it is expected to be available in the near future.
