Samsung has successfully started its upper mid-range smartphone campaign and after Galaxy E5, comes an even powerful phone from Samsung’s collection – the Galaxy E7. A powerful combination of rich display with excellent camera, it is sure to raise some brows with its specifications. Though the phone is a bit overpriced as compared to India-based rival handsets, the phone succeeds in providing lag-free performance and delivers stunning pictures with its camera. Let’s have a look what this Samsung “performer” has to offer.

Features and Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy E7 comes with a 5.5” Super AMOLED capacitive multi-touch screen offering 720 x 1280 pixels resolution similarly like Galaxy E5. The phone comes is powered by Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS with an assured update to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop – a must at this price range. The handset runs on a 1.2 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU which enables the phone to provide excellent performance along with rich video and gaming experience. The memory aspect of the Galaxy E7 revolves around a 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card through external storage. The phone features hybrid dual SIM option thus allowing the use of either two NANO SIMs simultaneously or a single NANO SIM and a memory card together. The Samsung Galaxy E7 sports a 13MP primary camera delivering amazing pictures even in low-light due to the presence of LED flash. The phone also has a secondary 5MP camera to take amazing selfies and make high quality video calls. The phone flaunts round edges maintaining the Galaxy Series tradition with a central oval shaped home button. Ports include a 3.5mm earphone port and a microUSB 2.0 port with the power and volume buttons designed ergonomically. A major drawback of the phone in terms of design or display is the absence of Corning Gorilla Glass which most major smartphone manufacturers provide at this price range which is a must at this price range. The phone comes in four soothing colors – Black, White, Blue and Brown.

The phone is supported by Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS with assured future update to 5.0.2 Lollipop allowing the hardware to provide seamless performance. The phone features an Accelerometer, an Ambient light sensor and a Proximity sensor. Like the Samsung Galaxy E5, the Galaxy E7 also uses GLONASS and A-GPS technologies for navigation. The handset is designed with Hybrid dual SIM technology, as stated above, allowing connectivity through the use of NANO SIMs. Internet connectivity options include GPRS and EDGE with high speed 3G internet service. But a major setback will be if you are an active dual SIM user which won’t allow you using microSD card for memory the slot being a hybrid SIM and memory slot.
